Indigo encounters ‘cybersecurity incident’
Indigo’s online store and payment system is down following a “cybersecurity incident,” the company announced Wednesday night.
The bookstore chain, which also owns Chapters and Coles, said in a statement posted on its website and social media accounts that it is working with “third-party experts to investigate and resolve the situation.” .”
An Indigo spokesperson said the company is also working with third-party experts to find out if customer data has been breached, and is committed to disclosing more information as it becomes available.
As of Wednesday night, Indigo’s online store remains unavailable and redirects to the company’s statement. The company also does not accept debit, credit or gift card payments in-store and accepts cash only. Returns are also not processed, and Indigo says customers with unpaid orders may experience delays.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may create for our valued customers,” the company said.
