Investigation underway after anti-Semitic, racist words and symbols painted on Anderson High parking lots
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A neighborhood synagogue is web internet hosting an event Saturday to take care of a present incident at Anderson Extreme School the place offensive, racist phrases and symbols had been painted in a variety of pupil parking tons.
Congregation Agudas Achim organizes the meeting on Saturday, in response to the graffiti in Anderson.
In a letter to people, Principal Sammi Harrison said the graffiti had been painted on 5 pupil parking tons and a storage room. The graffiti depicted featured anti-Semitic symbols, racist phrases and offensive imagery.
“AISD repairs and our administrators responded quickly to remove the flags,” Harrison said inside the letter. “The AISD police and Anderson’s administration proceed to work to determine these involved.”
Congregation Agudas Achim said it would host highschool faculty college students to affix the congregation at noon for a “supportive, uplifting presence collectively.” A gathering would occur after lunch.
“I really feel the Anderson group has felt this shock that goes previous merely the students,” says pupil Ford McCracken. “Now we’ve an enormous Jewish inhabitants inside the house and it’s beautiful and insulting to see one factor so obscene plastered on school grounds to implement increased security measures inside the tennis courtroom/parking zone.”
“These acts of hatred gained’t be tolerated,” Harrison said.
AISD said all markers have been coated.
Austin Police Division is investigating.
