Former Indian hitter Aakash Chopra thinks that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) should not start hitting the ball with Abhishek Sharma in IPL 2022 contest against Lucknow the giant (LSG). According to him, this plot doesn’t make much sense.
After being beaten 61 times in the opening match of IPL 2022, Hyderabad will face Lucknow at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Monday.
Analyzing SRH’s lineup, Chopra suggested several changes to the batting order. Talk about him YouTube channel, he chooses:
“There is no point in opening the ball against Abhishek Sharma. Do not open with him. Open with Rahul Tripathi and Washington Sundar instead. Washi hits the ball beautifully and he’s a top player. He is being wasted giving orders. Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram will complete my Top 5. I will beat Abhishek Sharma in 6th place and Abdul Samad in 7th place”.
On the bowling attack, he announced that he will play South African left-hander Marco Jansen against West Indies’ Romario Shepherd. Chopra added:
“Among the pitchers, I would play Marco Jansen against Romario Shepherd. Then of course SRH has three pacemakers in Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar), T Natarajan and Umran Malik. ”
In Hyderabad’s opening encounter with Rajasthan, Sundar was down 47 points in three passes and Natarajan picked up 43 points in four, but later claimed a few missteps.

Although Lucknow chased 211th place against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their previous game, Chopra said that he will still make some tweaks to the team. The former cricketer did not pick form Manish Pandey in his priority squad.
Sharing his thoughts on LSG’s squad, the 44-year-old said:
“In my XI play for LSG, there was no place for Manish Pandey. My top three will be KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis. I’ll beat Deepak Hooda at four and push Ayush Badoni to five. He’s hitting the ball too low at the moment. Jason Holder will arrive at six, and Krunal Pandya at seven.”
Chopra also chose Ankit Rajpoot as one of his tempo drivers, adding:
“For the bowlers, I will go with Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Andrew Tye and will play Ankit Rajpoot as well. That way, Lucknow will have four pitchers and three all-around runners.”
