Is Netflix shutting down? Users report outages globally, including India
Netflix was down for thousands of users on Friday, according to Downdetector.com. The streaming platform says it is facing streaming issues across all devices. There are about 4,000 reports on the issue tracking website Downdetector, which collates status reports from several sources in the United States. According to Downdetector, the Netflix outage started around 11:22pm IST. However, the issue was resolved by 12:15 am IST for most users. Users across India also faced an issue for almost an hour when the website was down.
Like report by some users on Downdetector, Netflix the website shows ‘Error Code NSES-500’ whenever a user tries to browse content on the streaming platform. The OTT platform is reported to be down on various platforms, including mobile apps as well as web browsers.
Meanwhile, at the time of writing, Netflix’s website reflects that the platform is currently experiencing issues on certain devices. It says, “We are currently experiencing streaming issues on PC and/or Mac devices; however, other devices may still work.” The announcement also says that the streaming giant is working to resolve the issue.
On Thursday, thousands of users Meta‘S Instagram report problems with the photo-sharing app, according to Downdetector.com. Nearly 24,000 Instagram users were affected by 5pm ET (2:30am IST on Friday), according to issue tracking website Downdetector, which collates status reports from several US sources. Downdetector reports have dropped over the next few hours and the service appears to be up and running.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We’re working hard to get things back to normal and apologize for any inconvenience,” a Meta The spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
About 23,330 users report that they were affected by the power outage, according to Downdetector.
