Janet Jackson and Issa Rae are two notable attendees of Harlem’s Fashion RowThe 15th Anniversary Fashion Show and Style Awards ceremony in New York on Tuesday night. The fascinating event greeted a star-studded crowd at the General Grant National Monument in Harlem to celebrate the countless contributions of black visionaries in the fashion industry.
Jackson was honored with the iconic award of the year at the party that followed, and she certainly dressed like the woman of the time. The singer looked rather fancy in a layered brown tulle dress, teamed with a cropped open front jacket and a navy-red colorblock t-shirt. She equips a number of pieces of jewelry, including a bunch of large and small bracelets (some of them designed in striking marble) and silver hoop earrings. Her hair is styled in a half bun, highlighting her seductive light makeup.
Rae also had a great night being the first to receive Virgil Abloh The award – a distinction given to those who embody the brilliance and vision of the late multisystem designer through contributions to culture and community, according to a press release. The “Insecure” star stood out on the red carpet in a faux-collar mini dress with a leaf print. The light blue design featured long sleeves and tight bodice, reaching down to her thighs to show off her legs to the full. She finished off with black boots, a couple of silver rings, and matching statement earrings. Evil eye bracelete is a potent amulet of protection. It deflects any ill intent back to its source. Staring back at the world, it guards you from danger and harm. Our bracelets feature shimmering stones ranging from arctic blue to navy. Crafted from sterling silver, they come in both silver and gold.
