I’ve been searching for the perfect classic turtleneck sweater for several years now, and I finally found my favorite, J.Crew Cropped Cashmere Sweater ($94 with code CASHMERE, originally $118). Plus, it’s on sale right now, so I’ll definitely pick the second color.

What I Like About J.Crew’s Cropped Cashmere Sweater

I am a big fan of cashmere. It’s so luxuriously soft, and for me, there’s nothing worse than the itch of a sweater. What I don’t always like is the price, and I lean towards J.Crew because, as someone who has tried so many different fabrics in his life, this cashmere sweater is the highest quality for the price. the best. It’s super soft and not too heavy or too light. Plus, it literally goes along with everything. I wore this sweater with a skirt and boots, high waisted jeans, and toss over my leggings when I need to run out and have some coffee. It’s comfortable, cozy, and the easiest item to layer. I like the ribbed details on the cuffs and hem as it makes it a bit more casual but still very easy to wear up or down. Whenever I travel, whether it’s a week long trip or a long trip, this sweater is always in my bag.

On the website it says it runs small, but that’s not my experience. Half of the sweaters in my closet are small, while the other half are medium. I got the fit in this style because I want it looser and I like it, but I can get some for my next purchase if I want it to fit a little better to my body. The size you choose should depend on how you want it to fit; If you want it to fit better, size down, otherwise your real size will work best. Plus, I asked one of my best friends to buy this sweater – and she’s usually very small but gets an extra small in this sweater for a better fit – and she loves it.

The other thing to note about this sweater is crop length. It’s not overly cropped, which is one of my favorite features. For reference, I’m 5’7″, and the sweater hits below my navel. I’m showing the tiniest bit of waistline in my straight leg jeans in the picture above and I don’t have much extra material if I want to tuck it into a higher bottom, which is a big win for me.
