As Tisci explains, “It was important for me to explore what it means to belong, how our origins affect our identity, and what the power of community and solidarity is. really give meaning to the world.”
The runway featured Burberry heritage prints in pleated skirts, lining trench coats, duffel bags and thigh-high boots. Models also hit the runway in green tartan dresses and coats, one of them carrying a bag decorated with the motif.
Tisci experimented with stretchy trench coats, imagining them like strapless maxi dresses with belts. Cosmopolitan and country references can be seen in a wide variety of clothing – from schoolboy hats to wax coats – all of which represent different aspects of life in the UK. “The collection embodies an invisible essence that is British,” says Tisci. “A unique combination of celebrating the beauty of the past, while still focusing on the future with gratitude, hope and love.”
