“Jagged Little Pill” ended well on Broadway due to COVID-19’s Omicron variant.
After some positive circumstances between the cast and crew, the producers have confirmed the show will no longer perform on Broadway. All canceled tickets for Broadhurst Theater performances will be refunded.
“[The] The events that took hold this week with the rapid spread of the Omicron variant changed everything once again. We are deeply concerned by what appears to be another serious public health crisis and – due to the numerous COVID-19 positive cases found within the company – the health and safety of our customers is a priority. The cast, crew, and entire team worked on Jagged Little Pill,” the producers said in a statement. Due to the great uncertainty ahead this winter and being forced to choose between continuing to perform and protecting our company, we have made the difficult decision to close. “
The musical’s final performance is on December 17. A traveling production crew will be visiting Australia for the New Year.
In the midst of the Omnicron wave, Broadway’s “Aladdin” and “Hamilton” canceled performances until after Christmas.
