This time around, the Jamaicans will have a stronger squad with top players in England like West Ham’s Michail Antonio, Fulham’s Bobby Reid and Brentford starter Ethan Pinnock all ready to face El Tri at The Office in Kingston.
And it will be a Jamaican team (6th, 7th) with their backs against the wall. Seven points out of fourth and final place in the playoffs, Jamaica needs to win, especially playing at home. And while Mexico (3rd, 14 points) sits comfortably in the automatic qualifiers, a third consecutive loss will further complicate matters with home games against upcoming Costa Rica and Panama. end.

Veteran Hector Moreno, winger Uriel Antuna and central striker Rogelio Funes Mori appear to be possible replacements for the absentees, although Martino could opt for other solutions. Orbelin Pineda and Alexis Vega are two other potential attacking substitutions that have been covered by the Mexican press.
Mexico’s expected starting lineup (4-3-3, left to right): Guillermo Ochoa (GK) – Gerardo Arteaga, Hector Moreno, Johan Vasquez, Jorge Sanchez – Luis Romo, Edson Alvarez, Hector Herrera – Jesus ‘Tecatito’ Corona, Rogelio Funes Mori, Uriel Antuna

Mexico doesn’t like to play Jamaica, and it shows every time these two teams play. Reggae Boyz isn’t afraid to take on mighty Mexico and they put El Tri in trouble all over the field.
THAN: How can Mexico qualify for the World Cup
Since 2010, these two teams have faced off eight times in all competitions (including friendlies) and Jamaica has a 2W-4L-2D record with two of four defeats by a margin of one goal. In their most recent meeting at the Estadio Azteca, Jamaica was deemed worthy of a draw before conceding a belated winner Mexico.
With what’s at stake for Jamaica, Reggae Boyz should be there early in a last-gasp attempt to rescue their World Cup spot. With West Ham’s Michail Antonio on the field (eight Premier League goals) against a side under Mexico that lacks key starters and is susceptible to opposition pressure, it’s not far-fetched to see Jamaica score little. at least one goal, regardless of the final result.
