Jameis Winston opens up about losing his startup job

James Winston says he has recovered enough from the ankle and back injuries that kept him sidelined for most of the season. The pain he feels stems not from those problems but from the trust fractured when the Saints chose to start Andy Dalton on him.

The offense plays out at a higher level with Dalton healthy instead of Winston injured during the first few weeks of Dalton’s tenure. As a result, head coach Dennis Allen said the team will stick with Dalton as long as the offense continues.

The team has scored a total of 23 points in the last two games, so why would Allen give the team’s chance to a QB who has proven incapable of raising the list towards the end of his career?

That is the question Winston asks himself, and his expressive response when discussing his disqualification due to injury is the first question on the list of possible players. expressed displeasure after a derailed season.

New Orleans (3-7) is one more playoff spot than the two return games where the Saints’ record shows them in the group. Tampa Bay (5-5) leads the NFC South but no one in New Orleans is talking about the Saints capturing the Bucs for a playoff spot.

Winston comes to New Orleans in 2020 to study with Drew Brees and Sean Payton. Brees retired after the 2020 season and Winston took over after the QB battle with Taysom Hill in the 2021 pre-season. This season, Winston has struggled as the team tries to stay afloat following his decision to quit the sport. This is from Payton.

Overall, Winston is 6-4 as the team’s starter. He is 175 of 287 (61 percent) in 2,103 yards and 18 touchdowns with eight interceptions.

Dalton has started seven games and the team is 2-5. Dalton was 141 of 217 (65 percent) in 1,559 yards and 11 touchdowns with 7 interceptions.

He will have his eighth game this Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams (3-6).

Allen is receiving a lot of interest from fans for the team’s performance and his decision to keep Dalton at QB will not attract any fans. Winston didn’t set the world on fire but he didn’t have to sit there and watch everything burn.
