Janet Todd’s Terrifying End to Ekaterina Vandaryeva’s ONE 159 Pre-Bid

Janet Todd is one of the best strikers with technique and method at ONE Championship, but the atomic kickboxing world champion has no problem bursting out with a finishing blow.

Just look at what the American striker did to Ekaterina Vandaryeva at ONE: Century Part I in October 2019:

Todd and Vandaryeva had a couple of exchanges early in the second half, but didn’t do much damage to any of the fighters. Causing Vandaryeva to lose his temper for a brief moment, Todd unleashed a left kick and then a kick into the right circle that sent the Belarusian down his jaw.

It was a brutal scene that left Vandaryeva shaken at first before she fell onto the canvas in a heap. Vandaryeva tried her best to come back but it was clear the fight was over and Todd knew it was another win in her stellar ONE Championship tenure.

Todd’s win over Vandaryeva is also in the early stages of her impressive winning streak at ONE Championship. After losing the first match against Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex, Todd had a series of 6 brilliant victories. Her win over Vandaryeva was her third win in that run.

Todd’s win over Vandaryeva also set the stage for her title match with Stamp, a year after she failed in her bid to become the ONE Atomic Muay Thai world champion.

Todd and Stamp’s rematch was for the atomic kickboxing world championship title and ‘JT’ received her appearance, winning decisively and the belt in February 2020.

Janet Todd aims for second world title

Janet Todd plans to hit double champion title when she debuts Lara Fernandez won the provisional ONE World Muay Thai Championship at ONE 159: De Ridder vs. Bigdash. The event is set for 22 July and will be televised live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Fernandez, meanwhile, brings plenty of experience on her ONE Championship debut. The Spaniard holds the 40-13-3 record in Muay Thai and kickboxing, and holds the WBC Muay Thai flyweight and ISKA featherweight titles.
