Canadian musician Jann Arden said writing her latest album in the midst of the pandemic gave her “a lot of time to reflect.”
The process of writing “Descendant,” Arden’s 15th studio album due out on Friday, began in spring 2020, during the early days of the global COVID-19 outbreak.
“It’s a lot about encouraging my friends and family,” Arden told CTV’s Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme.
Arden said the concept of “Descendants” was born from connections to her family, including her mother with Alzheimer’s disease and the strong women who went before her.
“Our ancestors went through some very difficult situations,” Arden told CTV News.
