Jared Kushner Dismisses Trump’s Secret Doc Investigation as ‘Paperwork Issue’

After a barrage of brutal reviews, Jared Kushner’s ailing book promotion tour faced another setback on Friday in a scathing interview in which he was forced to get creative when was asked to explain why Trump was investigation to preserve confidential documents in his Florida resort.

Speaking to UK’s Sky News, the former president’s son-in-law tried to pull his crowbar White House memoir coming soon into a no-answer when pressed about Trump bringing home files containing state secrets.

“You have to ask him that question,” Kushner told Sky’s Kay Burley. “But what I will say is, if you look at my book, you will see that he is under constant attack…”

“But he brought the Top Secret documents home,” Burley interjected, “potentially posing a risk to the security of the United States?”

Kushner later offered a stunning defense of his father-in-law: “This looks like a paperwork issue that could have been resolved between the DOJ and [Trump]. I don’t know what he took or didn’t take, but I think right now we’re relying on media leaks, which is exactly what we’ve been…”

Once again, Burley stepped in to cut Kushner’s spearhead on the media, involving a FBI photo released by DOJ showed documents scattered across the floor of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago office, many of which were clearly marked “Top Secret”. She went on to press Kushner to clarify if he said that people should “wait and see” if the documents are indeed classified, “even though we have been told by the FBI that they are?”

Kushner used to be a salesman, Kushner replied by writing several more times in his memoirs. “Like I said, I go into my book the accusations that have been made against Trump…”

“If you could only answer that question,” Burley interrupted impatiently.

“I mean first of all, he’s the president of the United States,” Kushner replied. “He has the highest clearance in the world, so I don’t know if… Look, this could be a paperwork issue, this could be a… I don’t know, like me. having said, I haven’t gotten into the details of it yet. “

Thanks for addressing that, Jared.

Trump’s own legal team has previously tried to justify his unauthorized possession of classified documents by arguing that The FBI should have expected he has “sensitive information” among his presidential files, and the discovery of that document “has never been cause for alarm.”

Meanwhile, mounting pressure on Trump from the investigation has led some Democratic lawmakers to worry that the erratic former president could publish classified documents in a self-defense attempt to defend themselves.
