Jason Holder returns as the West Indies’ 18-man squad for the ODI series against India.
West Indies announced the 18-man ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against India at home. The all-powerful Jason Holder is back at his side after missing the series with Bangladeshwith Nicholas Pooran continue as captain.
Both teams will compete for the CG United Cup, with matches taking place on July 22, 24 and 27 at the iconic Queen’s Park Oval. The guests will be very confident after winning in a series of empty-handed matches against England.
Head of selection Desmond Haynes said the West Indies are relieved to have Jason Holder back in their ranks, expecting him to make significant contributions on and off the pitch. The former opener wanted the players to put on a better performance against India after their difficulties against Bangladesh.

Haynes said, as quoted by Windiescricket.com:
“As we all know Jason is one of the top all-round cricketers in the world and we are delighted to have him back in the team. He will be refreshed, re-energized and ready to go. on the pitch and we can look forward to seeing his brilliance on the pitch as well as meaningful contributions off the pitch.
“We had three very difficult matches against Bangladesh in Guyana so we will look to recover against India in terms of Trinidad. We have seen some players with development, but Overall, we need to regroup and play better against India.”
Pooran’s army had a difficult match against Bangladesh, losing all 3 matches in the ODI series. The Bangladeshi spinners made good use of the conditions to beat the hosts cheaply in all three matches. It should be noted that the West Indies cannot go past 200 in any ODI.
