Jean Smart Brings Us to Tears Thanking Her Late Husband at 2021 Emmys

Jean Sensible received the award for Excellent Lead Actress in a Comedy Sequence for her work on Hacks on the 2021 Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 19.
Whereas accepting her fourth-ever Emmy Award, Jean paid tribute to her late husband, actor Richard Gilliland, who died in March following a quick sickness.
“Earlier than I say anything, I should acknowledge my late husband Richard Gilliland, who handed away six months yesterday,” she informed the group, following an emotional standing ovation. “I’d not be right here with out him, and with out his form of placing his profession on the again burner so I may reap the benefits of all of the great alternatives that I’ve had.”
Jean, 70, additionally thanked her “unbelievable” and “unselfish” youngsters, Connor and Forrest. The Frasier alum known as them each “artistic people” who’ve “put up with Mommy commuting from Philadelphia and again.”
