Jeffrey Epstein Accuser Virginia Giuffre Says Dershowitz Abuse Claim May Have Been ‘Mistake’

One Jeffrey Epstein’s victim settled a lawsuit against a Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz and released a statement indicating that she may have made a mistake in accusing him of sexual assault.

Virginia Giuffre, who says she was kept as a sex slave for Epstein and his convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, sued Dershowitz months before the trafficker was arrested in late 2019.

The settlement ended three years of litigation — during which Dershowitz staunchly defended himself and against Giuffre, a famous survivor of Epstein’s abuse.

The New York Times first reported that Giuffre was releasing a joint statement announcing the settlement.

In a joint statement obtained by The Daily Beast, Giuffre, her attorney David Boies and Dershowitz said the settlement of the case “doesn’t involve the payment of any money by anyone or anything.” other.”

“I have long believed that I was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to Alan Dershowitz,” Giuffre said in his statement. “However, I was very young at the time, it was a very stressful and traumatizing environment, and Mr Dershowitz has consistently denied these allegations from the start.”

“I now realize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz,” Giuffre added. “This litigation is very stressful and heavy for me and my family, and we believe it’s time to end it and move on with our lives.”

For his part, Dershowitz said: “As I said at the beginning, I have never had sex with Miss Giuffre. However, I believe that by the time she accused me, she believed what she said. “

“Multiple Sclerosis. Giuffre deserves credit for her courage to say publicly that she may have been mistaken about me. She has suffered greatly at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein, and I commend her work in combating the evils of sex trafficking”.

Dershowitz then addressed his longtime legal scuffle with Boies, who has represented many of Epstein’s other victims including Maria and Annie Farmer.

“I also now believe that my allegations that David Boies participated in an extortion conspiracy and perjury crimes are false,” Dershowitz stated.

In his own comments, Boies said he agreed “that it’s time to end this litigation and move on.”

“I know that Alan Dershowitz has suffered greatly from the sexual abuse allegations brought against him – an allegation he has been consistent with, and vehemently denied,” continued Boies. “I also know that this litigation has imposed, and continues to impose, a significant burden on Ms. Giuffre.

“I appreciate Mr Dershowitz’s recognition that I was not involved in an extortion scheme or criminal perjury. I accept each of their statements in the spirit in which they are made, and I wish each of them well. “

In his lawsuit, Giuffre accused Dershowitz of defamation and called him “Epstein’s lawyer, close friend, and accomplice” who “was also a participant in sex trafficking, including one of men to whom Epstein lent to Plaintiff. sex. “

The lawsuit alleges that Dershowitz sexually abused Giuffre “multiple times.”

After Giuffre filed the lawsuit, Dershowitz told The Daily Beast: “I welcome it. This lawsuit gives me the opportunity I am seeking to prove Virginia Roberts perjured and will continue to perjury in federal court.”
