Jeremy Renner celebrates birthday in hospital after snow plow accident – The Hollywood Reporter
Jeremy Renner expressed gratitude for the support he received while celebrating his birthday during his continued hospital stay in Reno following the New Year’s Day snow excavator accident.
The Oscar-nominated actor, who turns 52 on Saturday, posted videos to his Instagram stories that day of students from The Base, a Chicago-based organization that focused on supporting young academics and athletes, dancing to 50 Cent’s “In da Club” — with the chorus of “Let’s go, it’s your birthday” — while holding cards that spell out his name. “Thanks for the birthday love!!!” Renner wrote on his post about the video. He also commented on The Base’s own Instagram post about the clip: “I love you all so much!!!! Thank you. You made my spirit sing!!!!”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Department held a news conference Wednesday to provide an update on what the office called a “tragic accident” that occurred at the home of Renner’s Mt. Rose Highway in Nevada. Sheriff Darin Balaam said that Renner was run over by a snow cat, a motor-powered snow removal machine, Sunday after he tried to turn back when it started rolling away.

He shared his first video update from the hospital on Thursday with footage of him washing his hair while showering in bed. Renner included the caption, “The ICU spa moment lifts my spirits.”
