Jessica Chastain Nets Palm Springs Honor for In the Eyes of Tammy Faye – The Hollywood Reporter

Jessica Chastain has a date in the desert on January 6.

Actress, producer and star of Searchlight Pictures’ Tammy Faye’s Eyes – Michael Showalter’s photograph following the rise and fall and redemption of messenger Tammy Faye Bakker – was selected to receive the Desert Palms Achievement Award in the actress category at the Palm Springs International Film Awards. The event will be held live and in person from the Palm Springs Convention Center.

The festival honors Chastain’s return as she was previously awarded the President’s Award in 2018 and the Distinguished Award in 2012. The previous honorees were announced at the event today. January 6 includes Jane Campion (Director of the Year), Penélope Cruz (International Star Award, Actress) and Kristen Stewart (Spotlight Award, Lead Actress).

“In Tammy Faye’s Eyes, Jessica Chastain brilliantly portrays evangelist Tammy Faye Bakker in a story that captures her life and unique style,” said festival president Harold Matzner. “Jessica once again showcased both her acting and singing talents, embracing Tammy Faye’s makeup, hairstyle and fashion.”
