Jimmy Kimmel Rips Into Marco Rubio’s ‘Incredibly Stupid’ Excuse for Skipping State of the Union

Jimmy Kimmel didn’t seem too enamored of President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address Tuesday night, calling it a “tough speech” and joking that he “probably saved give yourself a moment and just tweet that the Confederate State is ‘malarkey AF.’ “

The late-night host added, “Our union status is as strong as that of Kim and Kanye,” the late-night host added, noting that “not every legislator is on hand to watch the speech, this is not normal.”

“One of the people who opted out tonight is Senator Marco Rubio of Florida,” Kimmel continued, explaining that the Republican lawmaker skip speech because he doesn’t want to take the mandatory COVID test.

“I don’t have time to get tested for COVID today,” Rubio complained earlier in the day. “I only take the test if I’m sick.”

“The thing that you can get and spread COVID without any symptoms, is an incredibly stupid thing to say,” Kimmel replied. “But, to be fair, that’s what Marco Rubio does. He’s very branded. You know why he wouldn’t do it, right? You know why he didn’t take it? Because if they picked him up, it would probably come back positive for Donald Trump’s ass.”

Speaking of the former president, Kimmel expressed his distrust of a poll That shows that 62% of Americans believe Putin would not invade Ukraine if Trump remained president. “Following this fairy tale of him getting tough on Putin, remember when our American intelligence informed our president that Russia did everything to disrupt our election? ” he asks. “And then when given the choice to side with Putin or our FBI and CIA, guess who he chose?”

“There’s a hardliner for you in Russia,” Kimmel said after playing a clip of Trump infamous Helsinki summit press conference. “What happened there was Mr. Tough Guy looked Putin in the eye and was immersed in his Dependency.”
