John Wick Creator Working on Street Rage Movie
If Jason Momoa’s ability to subscribe to a Minecraft movie wasn’t enough for a day, we now have news of Sega’s classic beat series Street inspiration is said to be being turned into a movie.
According to an exclusive on Deadline, the script is being handled by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad. Sonic the Hedgehog producer ‘dj2 Entertainment‘ and ‘Escape Artists’ (known for Equalizer) will create an adaptation.
Streets of Rage first debuted on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in 1991 and most recently had a fourth game, which was released on multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch in April 2020.
Rage Street 4 has shipped 2.5 million copies to date. If you’re not familiar with the more classic entries in this side-scrolling series that feature you cleaning the streets as a group of crime fighters, you can check out the second game. Streets of Rage 2 on Switch Online’s Sega Genesis/Mega Drive service.
