Josip Juranovic: Union Berlin agree £10m deal to sign Celtic right-back | Football news

Union Berlin have agreed a £10m deal with Celtic to sign right-back Josip Juranovic.

The fee was initially understood to be £7.5m plus add-ons and the Croatian was allowed to travel to Germany to complete his move to the Bundesliga side.

27 years old already is Chelsea’s target this Januarywhile the Spanish side Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have also considered a move for him.

Celtic want to keep Juranovic at Glasgow and hold talks over a new improved contract. However, neither side reached an agreement before he left for the World Cup in Qatar.

The former Legia Warsaw defender now looks set to leave the Scottish Premiership side after joining in August 2021 for a reported £2.5million.

Celtic have announced the signing of Canadian right-back Alistair Johnston on a five-year deal.

The Hoops have paid an initial fee of £3.5m for the CF Montreal defender, who has made three appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s side since joining earlier this month.
