Justin Bieber has a new favorite pair of eccentric shades

Justin Bieber’s personal style has gone through many stages, and almost all of them can be characterized by any type of eyeglasses he was wearing at the time. There is the flat top stage of the Belieber RETROSUPERFUTURE, and then the stage pilot wireframe spirit period, and most recently the period fashion nuances-scbag Balenciaga stage — looks like the final stage has turned into an even more animated extraterrestrial bug-eyed sunglasses stage.

Bieber’s new insect eyewear popped up last week during his recent visit to New York City with his wife, Hailey Bieber, where they strolled around town wearing cool little outfits but contradictory looks. (They are, forever, giant BF suit and GF elegant cape.) During a coffee run at TriBeCa, Justin, wearing a fleece-lined Loewe work jacket and giant butter-yellow glasses, strolled next to Hailey. in an elegant Saint Laurent coat, with giant lapels and a razor thin classic Prada shades. The next day, he wears identical glasses – this time purple – with a fun Stüssy striped knit sweater, while his other half looks like, well, his better half, wear YSL more stylish.

Both pairs of bug eyes come from Poppy Lissiman, an Australian accessory brand that also made its way to some of the most famous faces on the planet (e.g. Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid) late in the year. According to the company’s Instagram account, oversized Cherloi shades just dropped this week and also in black. That, we can only assume, means we’ll have another Justin-Hailey outfit combo in the coming days—he’s in black fly glasses, and she’s probably in a suit. The most casual outfit you’ll ever see.
