Justin Jefferson: I’ll Overtake Davante Adams As The NFL’s Best Collector This Season

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson doesn’t think he’s earned the right to call himself the best in the game, but he’s confident that will change after the 2022 season.

“I’ll say after this year I’ll be the best receiver in the NFL,” Jefferson told Complex in an interview. “I definitely have to give it to Davante Adams right now, he’s crazy and dynamic on the court. His run is crazy, so I definitely have to give it to him now, but I’m pretty sure after this year it will be me.

“I think I have to do it three years in a row for people to believe it. Some people don’t think that after two years you deserve to be at the top of the league. And then me, I feel like I will too. over 1,600 yards. So I think I’ll be the best collector after this year.”

Jefferson, 23, wasn’t far from that title with two nods to the Pro Bowl in multiple NFL seasons. He had 3,016 receiving yards in his career with 17 touchdowns, and was second in the NFL in receiving yards last year with 1,616.

Earlier in the 2022 season, Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, ending his tenure with the Green Bay Packers after five consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl.

Calvin Johnson and Antonio Brown are the only two players in NFL history to score more than 1,600 yards in consecutive seasons.
