K-pop boy group EXO’s Chanyeol launches personal YouTube channel

SEOUL – K-pop boy band member Exo Chanyeol has launched his personal YouTube channel. The musician, whose full name is Park Chan-yeol, started things off with a six-plus-minute video featuring his pet dog, Zzar.

In the clip, the 30-year-old Seoul man asks for the help of a member of the group Exo Kai to name the channel. But Kai, 29, only had enough time to suggest that Chanyeol just use his name, before Zzar barked at him and kicked him out of the room.

Netizens reacted enthusiastically to the clip that ended with Chanyeol making Kai’s offer.

One fan commented, “This is a breather for us (EXO fans). And (yay) we also have Kai here.”

Last week, Exo members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen informed their longtime agency, SM Entertainment, of their decision to terminate their contracts and leave the eight-member group.

This was followed by a complaint with the Fair Trade Commission of Korea about their alleged “slave contract” on Monday.

The trio along with Chanyeol and Kai debuted with the band in 2012.

Meanwhile, Kai began his mandatory military service in early May, less than two months after dropping out of his third EP, Rover.
