What comes to mind when you think of famous costumes in movies? For me, Julia Roberts in Beautiful Woman near the top of the list. Specifically, I will forever associate the brown and white polka dot dresses with the outfit that Roberts’ character Vivian wore to a classic polo match. 90’s movie.
Of course, when Kate Middleton stepping out in a sold out Rixo dress with a print and color combo so similar, I immediately thought of Beautiful Woman. But the devil is in the details, as they say. What really struck me as a reference was the duchess pairing the dress with pearl drop earrings – the same style that Roberts wore with her polka dot numbers. A surprising situation?
