FALLS CHURCH, Va. –
Supermodel Kate Moss, Johnny Depp’s ex-girlfriend, on Wednesday denied that she was ever pushed or assaulted by Depp during their relationship.
Moss testified as a rebuttal witness in Depp’s defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
It is said that in her testimony, Moss was mentioned and it was rumored that Depp pushed Moss down a set of stairs while they were dating. Heard was referring to Moss when she was describing a fight in which she admitted hitting Depp on the stairs because she said Depp was lunging at Heard’s sister, Whitney.
Moss, in testimony provided by the video link, said Depp never physically assaulted her. She said she once slipped down the stairs of a plane after a rainstorm at a resort in Jamaica, and Depp came to her aid.
She testified in less than 5 minutes and was not cross-examined.
Depp is suing Heard for defamation in Fairfax County Court in a December 2018 affidavit she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as “a figurehead for domestic abuse”. His lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned him by name.
Depp has denied he ever hit Heard, and said she was abusive in the relationship. Heard testified about more than a dozen separate instances of physical abuse she says she suffered at the hands of Depp.
