In addition to acting in movies and video games, Keanu Reeves is busy with other business ventures, including co-writing a comic book titled BRZRKR. Netflix is turning comics into animated movies and series, and Reeves recently said Collider that he might want to direct the film himself.
“I know it’s a lot of work, but the movie that I directed, Man of Tai Chi, was born, I became the director because I was part of the scripting process, and I didn’t want to. deliver it,” said Reeves. “I was like, oh, okay, I have to direct this. I’m not quite at BRZRKR yet. I have to read the script, but I also want a collaborator and what they can bring to it. “
The odds of Reeves directing the film seem pretty low even for the actor himself, who says there’s a 33% chance he’ll become the director. Screenwriter Mattson Tomlin tweeted last week that he has completed the first draft of the script Reeves refers to in the quote above. Tomlin is also working on a Terminator animated series and most recently Script for The Batman 2.
The BRZRKR comic is written by Reeves and Matt Kindt, with art by Ron Garney and Bill Crabtree, and tells the story of an immortal warrior known as Berzerker, as he battles through the ages. The 12-volume series has grossed $1.4 million on Kickstarter and is published by Boom! recording studio. Netflix also has BRZRKR anime in the works with animator Production IGRelease dates have yet to be announced for both projects.
