We have sad news, Kelis’ husband Mike Mora has passed away after a year of battling stomach cancer, MTO News has reported.
The news comes from close family friend Evan Ross – who broke the news on Instagram.
Evan wrote, “We lost a brother yesterday. We will really miss Mike.”
Diana Ross’ son added, “Think of some of the wonderful times we all spent together. You and [a friend] record me at [Dallas Austin’s] studio in Atlanta. ”

“First time I actually recorded a record in the studio. You made it feel easy and safe. Everything I see you do. Built with passion.”
He finished by saying, “I would love to reconnect with you. Heard about your children and the life you and your wife have built. I send all my prayers and love to the family. Your brother.”
A representative for Kelis confirmed Mora’s death to Entertainment Tonight Monday. “Sadly, it is true that Mike Mora has passed away,” they said. “We ask that all respect the privacy of Kelis and her family right now.”
Mora’s death comes months after he first shared his diagnosis on social media. In a post in September 2021, the photographer told his Instagram followers he thought he had a stomach ulcer, before being diagnosed with cancer in 2020.
