FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The Tarrant County grand jury returned the charges March 31, related to the arrest of former Keller ISD band director in 2021.
Jedidiah Maus, 36, has been charged with eight cases of lewdness with a child.
Maus was arrested on October 8, 2021 after he allegedly had contact with a student.
The initial charges filed were the result of an investigation that began in September 2021 after Keller ISD reported to police that a teacher exposed herself to a student.
After Maus was arrested, many more victims were brought forward with charges that lasted for several years.
Keller Police Detective Bethany Todd led the investigation.
“Detective Todd spent countless hours interviewing witnesses and victims, and corroborating evidence through surveillance video of KISD schools,” Sheriff Brad Fortune said earlier this month. “These investigations are difficult to conduct and require the utmost professionalism, compassion and empathy. Her skills have brought justice to many victims and their families.”
