Kelly Clarkson Says “Feeling Lonely” on Vacation During Divorce

“Honestly, I’m a little nervous sharing this song because it’s not your typical Christmas single,” she said during her special ceremony, before singing the tune, each Our weekly. “But it was the first song I wrote for this album and I wrote it because a lot of things have been taken away by us over the past few years: people, relationships, work, etc.”
She added, “But instead of looking at everything that went wrong, we should look at all the things that went right. And that’s what my therapist told me, so that’s who he was. I’m singing! But no matter what people try to take from you, no one can cancel Christmas, man.”
NS American Idol alum hasn’t shied away from discussing her heartbreak since she filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock in June 2020 after seven years of marriage. They have two children together, River, 7 and Remington, 5.
Last December, Kelly explained what it was like to go through a “terrible” divorce.
“There were a lot of hard parts and the hardest for me were the kids,” she detailed on her talk show at the time. “That was the hardest part for me. You know, I’ve always thought as women, especially we’re trained… to take it all in and you can work it out and you’re fine. But you worried about her child.”
Last March, the award-winning singer was in a much better spirit, sharing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, “I’m really at a place where I think a lot of people, I’ve heard, go through a divorce, it’s almost like you start dating yourself all over again. You really make time for yourself. you again, and I’d love to date me. I’m really not looking for it.”
