Kevin Sinfield’s latest fundraising bid to support motor neurone disease has grown to half a million pounds as he completes day four of the Ultra 7 in 7 Challenge in Stokesley.

The total run for Sinfield’s duty, in which he aims to run about 40 miles over seven consecutive days before arriving at Old Trafford at halftime in Saturday’s Rugby World Cup final, is £461,957.65 shortly after he arrived at Stokesley.

Starting in Chester-le-Street, Sinfield’s route included a stop at Riverside Stadium, where he was welcomed into the field and given a signed Middlesbrough shirt to raise funds for five organizations. charity of the MND.

The 42-year-old former Leeds captain is inspired by close friend and former team-mate Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with MND at the end of 2019, as well as former Scottish rugby league player Doddie Weir and the former team. His latest fundraising challenge will primarily benefit the MND Association and the Leeds Hospital Charity which calls for the construction of the Rob Burrow Center for MND in Leeds.
