James was sent off for a 2 foul on Flagrant after an altercation between the two sides and Stewart was not too pleased as he had to be restrained by team staff with blood running down his face.

It marked the second time in LeBron’s 19-year career that he was sent off a game, as Lakers teammate Anthony Davis told reporters after the game that the collision was not intentional.

“Everybody in the league knows LeBron isn’t a dirty guy,” Davis said after the 121-116 victory.

Davis explained after the game that James tried to apologize to Stewart right after the foul, before things even started.

Davis to add“Our security and their security did a great job.”

The Lakers took a 78-66 lead before attacking home in the fourth half to win and end their three-game losing streak, improving to 9-9 on the season.

“For me, it’s one of those things that can change the dynamics of your season.” Head coach Frank Vogel said after the game.

The two teams won’t have much time to cool off after tonight’s melee, with the Pistons heading to Los Angeles next Sunday to face the Lakers in an intense rematch.
