Lamborghini hopes to keep combustion engines alive beyond 2030



FRANKFURT – Volkswagen’s Super car brand Lamborghini The unit’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann told a German weekly newspaper that it was looking to keep internal combustion engine vehicles alive until the end of the decade.

“After hybridizationwe will wait and see if it is possible to supply vehicles with internal combustion engines after 2030,” he said Welt am Sonntag.

“One possibility is to keep combustion engine vehicles alive through synthetic fuels.”

Winkelmann last month said Lamborghini planned to launch its first all-electric model by the end of the decade, underscoring a more cautious approach following comments last year that the was planned for the second half of the decade.
