She added, “Thus realizing the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ policy, NELS offers a standardized curriculum that is based on the Indian context and developed in India”.

“It is the hourly need that India embarks on the creation of an integrated, efficient, professional and world-class system, powered by technology, to care for any victim of an accident, emergency or trauma in any part of the country,” she added.
The Ministry of Health has also asked States to submit proposals to establish NELS Skills Centers in their medical colleges and urges all Skills Centers to ensure that training courses are not only run on practices but are also used to the fullest extent to improve the quality of urgent care services in the State.
Activities within the NELS framework include the development of emergency life support training modules for doctors, nurses and paramedics after consultation with experts, and based on on the Indian context, establish and equip skills centers in the medical colleges in Central and the United States to impart skills based training in emergency life support to all medical functional category.
