Crafted from a silver, cord-like material, the dress features dozens of razor-sharp cuts that create a see-through effect. Sleeveless with a high neckline and asymmetrical skirt, the avant-garde figure fit Cox as if it was tailored to hug her curves.
Backed by stylists Christina Joy Pacelli, Cox outfitted with a clear spike pump, geometric diamond Dries Criel earrings, and a Kismet by Milka ring. The real highlight was the chrome handbag she brought with her to the event. Praised from an Austrian brand called Published by, the mini wallet is shaped like a large reflective stone with a top handle and an additional leather strap. The unique piece perfectly complements the futuristic aesthetic that Cox is aiming for.
After the gala dinner, Cox expressed gratitude for the opportunity to show off one of van Herpen’s iconic designs for the evening. “As a longtime fan of @irisvanherpen, I am honored and humbled to wear a piece of Iris to the ballet performance last night,” she wrote on Instagram. “Truly a place where fashion meets art.”
Cox was in stylish company at the midweek gala honoring the NYC Ballet VP Sarah Jessica Parker, in addition to famous fashion designers and choreographers. Julia Fox walks the red carpet with the foil effect Zac Posen’s Robe with loose sleeves and a sweeping train, while Billy Porter paired a Giles Deacon storage dress with heels.
