Le’Veon Bell contemplating retirement from football, starting boxing career before Buccaneers signed him
Just three days after Le’Veon Bell tweeted about the start of his boxing career, the returning veteran has signed with the Buccaneers, marking his official return to the NFL.
Before the Buccaneers called him, Bell was already planning to retire from football and enter the ring in the near future. However, Tampa Bay’s interest in Bell made him realize that he wanted to give football another chance.
Bell told reporters on Wednesday: “Yes, I’m almost done. I’ve come to a point where I don’t really want to play football. I’m going to focus on boxing.” “Once you get that phone call, it’s like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s it.'”
THAN: Why did the Buccaneers sign Bell?
Bell is particularly interested in playing with the 2021 Super Bowl champions. He will be working with seven-time Super Bowl champions Tom Brady and Antonio Brown, who have starred with Bell in Pittsburgh since 2013- 17.
“This is really the only place that can call me and prepare me to hang out,” says Bell. “It’s something you really can’t say no to, playing with the coach [Bruce] Arians, Tom Brady and obviously [Brown]. “

On Sunday, Bell tweeted about the possibility of being Jake Paul’s next opponent. However, some of the tweets that initially started the social media conversation about Bell’s future have since been deleted. Paul recently went 5-0 in his professional career after knocking out former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
“I’m tired of watching [Paul] out of the box [people] who doesn’t even want to box,” Bell tweeted.
I’m tired of watching him play ppl the box who doesn’t even want the box… if he wants to boxing, a real fight, he’ll fight me… hey, stop these guys The kid doesn’t know boxing https://t.co/EaxEBbJFR9

THAN: Bell challenges Paul to fight him, not ‘the little boys who can’t be boxed’
In one of his other tweets On this subject, Bell stated that Paul would not fight him because of his age (29 years), athletic background, and combat experience.
It’s likely he could still face Paul in the ring at some point, but with Bell now looking to immediately contribute to Tampa Bay, he probably won’t be trading with Paul any time soon. .
