Lil Wayne rewards 150 students with ‘Weezy Christmas’ party
Rapper Lil Wayne is spreading holiday cheer with his latest initiative. The 40-year-old teamed up with Young Money companion Mack Maine and celebrated 150 high-achieving students at Dave & Busters in New Orleans.

“Merry Christmas”
According to TMZ, the rappers teamed up with Wilson Sporting Goods for an event called “A Weezy Christmas.” It honors students between the ages of 12 and 16 for “scholarship excellence” and participation in local community sports programs.
In addition to playing Dave & Busters and taking pictures with Santa, each student was given brand new sports equipment.
Lil Wayne, also known as Lil Tunechi, took to Instagram to share photos of the event. As well as some words.

Lil Wayne’s Additional Philanthropic Efforts
In addition to the Christmas party, Wayne is also giving back to his hometown of New Orleans in other ways. According to TMZ, the “How To Love” rapper is also doing a sports show in Harrell Park.
Additionally, he and Mack Maine are working on two mentoring programs that encourage children to dream big and become leaders in their communities.
Wayne is giving back even though it’s his season to receive
The 40-year-old recently achieved a Diamond certification for his 2008 single “Lollipop”. This achievement is awarded by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Wayne took to Instagram to share his shock and Diamond degree with the world. He also thanked his co-writer, Co Tinh Trach.
