Lilo & Stitch Live-Action Movie Remake Starring Zach Galifianakis – The Hollywood Reporter
Zach Galifianakis has closed a deal to play the lead role Lilo & StitchDisney’s live-action remake of its 2002 animated hit.
Dean Fleischer Camp, the filmmaker behind the Oscar nominations for Best Animated Feature and Independent Marcel the Shell With Shoes Onis directing a film that is slated for a major release on Disney+.
The story revolves around Hawaii about a relationship formed between a loner girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is genetically engineered to become a force of destruction. With nosy social workers and pursuit aliens banging on the door, the two stick together for a shared sense of family and win the day.

The studio is conducting an extensive search for actors to play Lilo and her sister. Stitch, naturally, will be a CG production.
Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the screenplay for the adaptation. Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois wrote and directed the original film, which, while not an initial hit, developed a loyal fan base that only grew in the ensuing years.
