Ralph Lauren Just like the American apple pie. The legendary designer helped put American fashion on the map in the 60s and 70s and ensured that local design has remained a part of the global fashion conversation throughout the past five decades. Born in the Bronx, New York City, it’s no wonder he quickly became a staple at NYFW. But on one particular night, Lauren decided to abandon his East Coast roots and move to California, where he showcased his spring/summer 2023 collection in front of many fans.
The show featured 103 colossal designs spanning the entire Ralph Lauren universe, including Collection, Purple Label, Double RL, Polo Ralph Lauren and Childrenswear. The runway opened with old cowboy boots and Western-style embroidery and ended with colorful water-repellent silk taffeta dresses. Talk about scope.
