Live Update: Biden Infrastructure Bill Signing



Congress passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure package on November 5, approving part of the signature of President Biden’s economic agenda.

Here’s what’s on the bill:

Funding for bridges and roads:

The bill calls for investment of 110 billion dollars for bridges and major infrastructure projects. That number is significantly less than the $159 billion that Biden originally requested in the American Jobs Plan.

Including $40 billion for bridge repair, replacement and restoration, according to the invoice text. The White House said it would be the largest single dedicated bridge investment since construction of the interstate highway system began in the 1950s.

According to the White House, the bill would provide $21 billion to clean up the Superfund and Brownfield sites, recover abandoned mine land, and cap orphaned gas wells.
