We’ll have some heavyweights for the Champions League Round of 16 when the draw gets underway on Monday at UEFA headquarters in Switzerland. The two team pools include some of the biggest names in the sport and the league’s favorites are likely to go head-to-head.
The draw is quite simple: The eight Champions League winners will be drawn with the eight group runners-up, although they cannot be drawn with teams from the same group or country (scroll down for tables with this information).
Some potential combinations? How do Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United face Lionel Messi and PSG? Defending Champions League champions Chelsea could be held to a draw against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. Atletico Madrid is sure to be a tough game for Manchester City, and none of the table winners are likely to want to see Italian champions Inter Milan.
Sporting News will follow the draw live and provide updates and matches as they unfold.
