Local Woman Gets Thanksgiving Meal After Not Receiving Pandemic EBT Payments | Alabama Mobile County News



MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The ongoing pandemic has put a strain on families on Mobile. Last week, we told you how Catheryn Neese has been waiting since September to receive her pandemic PBT payment.

“Thanksgiving is approaching and the food stamps we received are not enough to feed the whole family,” Neese said.

After seeing Neese’s story on Fox Ten News, a group stepped in to help

After partnering with Golden Corral last year to feed families in need, VSHOC America’s Mobility unit contacted the restaurant again to ensure Neese and her family had a filling meal. enough for Thanksgiving.

“There is an old saying that it takes a village,” says Neese. “We have to take care of each other.”

Once the download is complete, the party begins to meet Neese for the first time.

While she’s still waiting for those payments, Neese says she’s grateful to have some much-needed help.

“It’s great, it’s beautiful,” Neese said.

But she’s not just grateful to have dinner for her and her family. She also said that she plans to pay it in the future.

“I have nine other siblings and we are all going to enjoy and plus the homeless through my work they will earn some as well,” Neese said.
