Local woman has funny sense of humor about turning 100 years old | Mobile County Alabama News
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) — A neighborhood household pulling out all of the stops to rejoice their matriarch’s a hundredth birthday.
Mrs. Emma Mae Washington sat entrance and middle as parade of household and pals led by Cell Fireplace-Rescue drove by.
Many took footage and wished her properly — some even dropping off items — one member of the family giving her a dozen roses wrapped with greenback payments. Her precise birthday is October sixth.
As FOX 10 Information came upon — she has a humorousness about turning 100.
LEE: “You do not need to inform everybody your age?”
WASHINGTON: “No… (laughs).”
LEE: “Nicely, 100 years outdated that’s one thing to be pleased with.”
WASHINGTON: “Yeah, I am pleased with it — however I do not need the world to know — I can not get no boyfriend. (Laughs).”
Washington tells us she loves her household and was shocked by everybody popping out to rejoice her special occasion.
“I simply cannot think about — I used to be simply so pleased. And I used to be thanking God. Lee: What did you assume if you walked out of the home and also you noticed all of this in the present day? — I used to be pleased that y’all thought sufficient for me to return and have a birthday celebration. I used to be pleased!”
Washington had three youngsters — all have since handed away. She has 15 grandchildren and 44 nice grandchildren.
