Long jumper Murali Sreeshankar finished 6th at Monaco Diamond League

Commonwealth Games silver-medal long jumper Murali Sreeshankar finished sixth in the Diamond League Meeting with a 7.94m bottom effort in Monaco on Wednesday. Sreeshankar achieved his best jump on the fifth attempt. He won silver at the Birmingham CWG six days ago with a best jump of 8.08m. He has a season and personal best of 8.36m.

He finished seventh in the World Championships in Eugene, USA, last month.

Cuba’s Maykel Masso won the event with a top effort of 8.35m while silver medals at World Championships and defending Olympic champions Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece (8.31m) and Marquis Dendy (8.31m) ,31m) of the US finished second and third respectively.
