Long-term driveway closure begins this week for the central Tri-State project
The Illinois Tollway will shut its ramp from Southbound I-294 (Tri-State Tollway) to Westbound I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway) beginning Thursday, October 21 at 8:00 PM
The closure will closing until November for the reconstruction of the slopes and pavement.
Web site guests is being rerouted southbound on I-294 to eastbound I-290. Drivers then exit Mannheim Road and swap spherical to entry I-290 westbound.
This work is being carried out as part of the Tollway’s $4 billion Central Tri-State Enterprise to reconstruct and widen the freeway from Balmoral to 95.e Street. The enterprise is scheduled for completion in 2026.
