Los Angeles Rams Look to Jimmy Garoppolo If San Francisco 49ers Release QB, Sources Say

Have San Francisco 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo was unable to agree to a restructured contract this summer, opponents Los Angeles Rams League sources tell ESPN that is a possible destination for the veteran quarterback.

Garoppolo and the Rams made a deal if he was released by the Niners, who were unaware that the defending Super Bowl champions were looking to sign him, according to sources.

Sources say the 49ers did not learn of the Rams’ concerns until they agreed with Garoppolo on a one-year deal worth up to $16 million.

A member of the 49ers organization told ESPN: “It would be such a move by the Rams. “Sean McVay and Kevin Demoff must have immersed themselves in it.”

Rams, who are eyeing Garoppolo as a legitimate backup option to Matthew Staffordconsistently demonstrate the ability to acquire skilled, well-known veterans such as Odell Beckham Jr. or Bobby Wagner although there doesn’t seem to be a pay list or space limit. The Rams have been very tight on their limits, and it will be a challenge to include Garoppolo in their pay structure.

For most of the season, a divorce seemed imminent between Garoppolo and the Niners, who were set with Trey Lance to take over in the midfield position.

But according to Garoppolo, “everything went well” with the Niners at the end of August, meaning he will be supporting Lance to start the season.

“See the other opportunities going on there and you weigh the pros and cons of everything,” Garoppolo told reporters on September 1. “Trust me, there’s a lot of comebacks going on. happens with just other teams and what I want my future to look like. And so this is what I want.”
