Lotus runs on Emira the hard way – and aside



Lotus flower sent Gavin Kershaw – the British automaker’s director of product integrity and attributes – on the right track with an Emira and a camera team. Between reminding us that manual transmissions are great and Emira getting more and more sideways, Kershaw’s job is to explain how the last ICE-powered Lotus is still a Lotus.

In this extended trailer, Kershaw gives us a look at what’s a bit new, which is the car’s four driving modes. The “Tour” mode handles everyday driving, programmed for “maximum control and stability.” The “Sport” does what we all expect the “Sport” to do, responding tightly and loosening the slip angle. “Race” opens up more slip angles and changes the gauge cluster to display the same distinctive dials as the performance tachometer.
