Ludacris Receives a Bachelor of Honors Degree from Georgia State University

Ludacris added a new title to her name: Georgia State University graduate. On Wednesday, the public university awarded the hip-hop icon with a bachelor’s degree with honors. Ludacris’ excitement spiked as he shared his educational win online. He spruced up his framed music management degree in an Insta short video!

“Now, listen, from now on, with all due respect… you have to call me Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, a graduate of Georgia State University, okay,” Luda said. “Mother, I did it; we made it! Class of 2022.”

Ludacris says GSU is part of his “Texture and DNA”

Ludacris is no stranger to GSU. He enrolled in state school in 1996. After two years, he left to sign a record contract with Def Jam Records. In his opening address to approximately 800 master’s degree recipients, Luda shared how the State of Georgia helped him succeed.

Ludacris told the graduates: “My time on campus honed my skills. “It gave me confidence that my path was predetermined. That’s exactly where I was supposed to be. Do exactly what I was supposed to do. ”

Ludacris said he “never left” and remains committed to returning and completing his studies.

After gathering his industry experience, Ludacris returned to the GSU community. In 2019, he joined the university’s Institute of Creative Media Industries as an artist-in-residence. He then teamed up with the university’s College of Law on a course based on his entertainment career.

Ludacris talked to Atlanta Journal-Constitution about receiving his bachelor of science degree in the same program he left behind to become the entertainment industry leader.

“I went to this school and I never finished my credits,” says Luda. “For them to come back and give me this honorary degree, it meant the whole world to me, for the simple fact that I always knew I wanted to come back. I always wanted to finish. I’m not someone who starts things and doesn’t finish. For me, it was a complete moment.”
