lyft the app is now more useful for taking care of your own car, not just calling someone else’s car. Now you access is allowed access to a trio of parking and maintenance features in the United States through a dedicated app section. You can request 24/7 roadside assistance through Agero, including drag truck. SpotHero now helps you with parking reservations. And if you need one fix or adjust, you can soon book vehicle maintenance at Goodyear Auto centers.
Not surprisingly, Lyft is offering some deals for Pink Subscriber. Membership includes four roadside assistance “events” per year, and Goodyear services are 15% off. Most features are available nationwide, although you can’t get roadside assistance in Nevada. Parking is only available in 30 cities, including Chicago, Denver, New York City and San Francisco, though Lyft says more areas are “coming soon.”
It’s not hard to see the strategy behind these additions. In addition to driving Pink subscriptions, this can keep you in Lyft’s ecosystem even if you don’t have the need to hail a car, bike, or scooter. Jody Kelman, head of the fleet, explains that the company can help you through “all stages” of your life. However, you might not mind if you’re willing to trade the flexibility of your providers for the convenience of booking all your car services in one app.
This can also represent a small competitive advantage over the main competitor Uber, whose app still revolves around on-demand trips. In theory, you could stick with Lyft simply because it covers more of your transportation needs.
