Man charged after drugs, weapons found in abandoned cars, RCMP says
A person is dealing with costs after police found medicine and weapons in deserted autos on the Mistawasis First Nation.
On the morning of Oct. 31, 2021, the Shellbrook/Ahtahkakoop RCMP investigated after receiving a report of the 2 suspicious autos parked on the south finish of the group.

When police arrived, they found two vans, black and burgundy, each described as deserted.
As police investigated, they positioned the next gadgets from the 2 vans: 242 grams of white powder described both cocaine or methamphetamine, two small baggage of hashish, drug paraphernalia, seven massive knives together with different edged weapons, bear spray, assorted ammunition, narcotics reminiscent of tablets and open liquor.
Forty-nine year-old Fenton Sasakamoose from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation was arrested on Nov. 2, 2021 in relation to this incident. Police say he was charged with the next:
- Two counts of possession for the aim of trafficking (cocaine and methamphetamine), Part 5(2), Managed Medication and Substances Act
- One rely of possession of the proceeds of property derived from fee of offence, Part 354(1)(a), Legal Code
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a harmful objective, Part 88(2), Legal Code
- One rely of possession of ammunition whereas prohibited, Part 117.01(3), Legal Code
Police say Sasakamooose appeared in courtroom and has been remanded till his subsequent courtroom look on Nov. 5, 2021 within the Ahtahkakoop group.
